The Reversal

Seira is Greek for the chain. Homer hung one from heaven, and the Byzantines used the word for something quieter: commentaries built as chains of authorities, each link a witness, the whole stronger than any voice in it. The blockchain is a seira in that oldest sense. Every transaction is a link, every link a record, and the record cannot be talked out of what it saw.

The people who trusted it first believed the opposite. They thought the chain was a mask. The 3 papers of this series follow that mistake from its dream, through its unmasking, to the mirror it now holds up to power.

The Three Papers

I · Dreaming of Liberty (Somnia Libertatis). The founding dream, from the cypherpunks to the 9 page whitepaper, and the headline stamped into the first block.

II · Following the Money (Vincula Lucis). The great unmasking: why 1 link between a wallet and a person collapses the whole graph backwards.

III · Turning the Mirror (Speculum Potestatis). The inversion: the glass ledger turned on the treasury, and the line that keeps it off the citizen.

Where the Series Hands Forward

Phronesis shows that a state can learn from its record. Seira shows there is now a record that cannot be lost. Psephos is what government becomes when the 2 meet, and Setting the Keystone is where they are joined.
